RE: 3 Men arrested on suspicion of conveying prohibited items into a prison

On 13/01/2026 at approx. 02:50am police were called to reports of a drone flying over the wall of Wandsworth Prison from the cemetery. Police attended and sighted a vehicle on MAGDALEN ROAD. On seeing police, the vehicle sped off and turned right onto ELLERTON ROAD and was stopped on LOXLEY ROAD.

Three occupants were detained and searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act due to the smell of Cannabis within the vehicle. In the vicinity of the vehicle the officers have located a Sainsburys bag that contained a large number of wrapped items. These items have been seized and all three occupants have been arrested on suspicion of conveying prohibited items into a prison.
